Experience one of the most peaceful and breathtaking corners of Lake Skadar on this 4-hour cruise to the secluded Kom Monastery.

Departing from Virpazar, your journey takes you through calm waters, past small islands and narrow channels surrounded by reeds and mountains. After about an hour of cruising, you’ll reach Kom Island, home to a monastery that dates back to 1412 — a sacred place that has stood quietly for more than six centuries.

A short 5–7 minute climb uphill rewards you with panoramic views of the lake that will truly take your breath away. At the top, you’ll be greeted by Father Filip, the only monk who lives here year-round, always happy to welcome visitors and share a few words about the monastery’s history and life on the island.
