Our boats are wooden and all handmade by local family Brnovic from Zabljak Crnojevica.
What do you need to know?
Lesendro used to be an island and a fortress here at Skadar Lake in Montenegro. It is located near the small fishing village Vranjina. The fort was built in the 18th century.
During the reign of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš a fortress served as a defense against Ottoman attacks and provided for undisturbed fishing and trade, Petar II himself often came here to rest.
Lesendro was 11 years under the rule of the Prince-Bishopric of Montenegro, until 1843 when Osman Pasha occupied Lesendro, at the same time as Vranjina and the Ottoman Turks made their fortifications there. The island was liberated in 1878 along with the fortress town of Žabljak Crnojevića, which were anwere annexed to the Principality of Montenegro.
After 15 minutes of boat cruise through Crmnica river, we will go out of the open lake and pass by fortress Lesendro from 1843. While cruising with beautiful river Moraca you will able to see old fishing village Vranjina and lots of birds.
Later we continue our tour towards Cakovica island where you will see waterlilies and enjoy patience of lake Skadar, depending on which season you are visiting our lake we will make a swimming break.
Afterwards we will follow the coast and go back to our start point.
Skadar lake is huge and there are lots of nice places to see here. For this tour our advice is to make a mixed boat cruise.
We can first go to the old prison Grmozur and later towards Lesendro castle and northern part of the lake where lilies are as well as Lesendro caste and old fishing village Vranjina.
One of the most beautiful places of Skadar lake is definitely Monastery Kom.
Hidden island with old church from 1412 with an amazing view from up there will take your breath away. On the way to there we will pass around few more islands and narrow channels. We need about 5-7 minutes to climb uphill but it worths every single step.
Father Filip is the only monk living there and he will be more than happy to welcome you.
We can go to an old fishing village called Karuc, have a walk there, enjoy amazing nature and if you want we can book you a nice table at the local restaurant there owned by family Dragojevic.
You can try some fresh fish there as well as fish soup with homemade wine.

Birdwatching
– One of our favourite tours is this one, because we go early in the morning on the lake and enjoy sunrise and different types of birds.
The best time for birdwatching on Lake Skadar is in early spring (April-May). Recommended time is morning (5-6 am). Please contact us for more details about this tour.
Kayaking
– All equipment can be rent every day in period from 7AM up to 7PM. If you contact us day earlier, you can rent equipment earlier than 7AM.
– Please contact us one day in advance for checking availability.
– Kayaks are high quality, original – made by Bic and others, inflatable and can be carried ( 20kg ).
– Any damage to the equipment needs to be compensated by user of equipment.
